Die design is an emerging field in which cost-effective methods are employed for the production of a diverse range of things. But for maximizing the profits it is absolutely necessary for the die designers to work in collaboration with die casters at the initial stages. This helps in solving problems related to tooling and production. It also helps in maintaining balance so that costs can be reduced to the minimum. The die designer originates designs of dies used to stamp and form parts from sheet metal, assemble parts together, and perform a variety of other operations. This book “Handbook of Die Design” covers its comprehensive topics and new ways to improve processes and reduce costs, from design through manufacturing. Whatever you blank, pierce, punch, bend, form, draw, or otherwise fabricate, this book gives you the hands-on guidance and use-it-now data you need to do it better, faster, safer. It's loaded with at-a-glance charts, step-by-step guidelines, rules of thumb, and up-to-the-minute techniques for ensuring precision design for every type of sheet metal pressworking. It's the essential on-the-job tool for engineers, designers, and technicians in die design and the pressworking range of operations looking for better evaluations and greater job satisfaction. Coherent flow of topics, student-friendly language and extensive use of examples make this book an invaluable source of knowledge.
