The Finite Element Method (FEM) is a critical technique for predicting phenomena in ordinary things throughout their construction and use. Fracture mechanics, fluid mechanics, biomechanics, and heat conduction are just a few of the subjects it can investigate. It is a technique for calculating approximate solutions to difficult mathematical problems. It's usually employed when mathematical equations are too hard to answer the traditional approach and a certain amount of inaccuracy is acceptable. One of the advantages of the finite element approach is that it allows for a lot of flexibility in terms of discretization, both in terms of the elements that may be employed to discretize space and in terms of the basic functions. FEM is only now beginning to realise its full potential in terms of applicability. Fluid-structure interaction, thermomechanical, thermochemical, and thermo-chemo-mechanical difficulties, biomechanics, biomedical engineering, piezoelectric, ferroelectric, and electromagnetic problems are all areas where it has a potential future.

The book seeks to illuminate some of finite element methods' lesser-known characteristics. It provides thorough insights about the uses and methods relevant in this field of study. It explores various topics like solid mechanics problems, elements and nodes, finite element formulation and discretization. It goes over all of the key uses and methodologies in this field of study in great detail. It also deals with higher order elements, isoparametric elements, statistical mechanics and finite element modelling. A logical based discussion has been tried to make for better understanding of the subject matter. It elucidates the field's innovative characteristics, which are essential for a comprehensive grasp of the subject. The book is suitable for people looking for in-depth knowledge on this topic.
