Finite element procedures are now an important and frequently indispensable part of engineering analysis and design. Finite element procedures are at present very widely used in engineering analysis, and we can expect this use to increase significantly in the years to come. The procedures are employed extensively in the analysis of solids and structures and of heat transfer and fluids, and indeed, finite element methods are useful in virtually every field of engineering analysis. An important aspect of a finite element procedure is its reliability, so that the method can be used in a confident manner in computer-aided design. The analysis of complex static and dynamic problems involves in essence three stages: selection of a mathematical model, analysis of the model, and interpretation of the results. The book aims to shed light on some of the unexplored aspects of finite element procedures. It provides thorough insights about the uses and methods relevant in this field of study. It includes topics like mathematical model, commercial software of finite element method, solid mechanics and structural analysis. Such selected concepts redefine the subject that has been presented in this book. It also explores finite element method in heat transfer, aerospace engineering and manufacturing. It unfolds the innovative aspects of this field which will be crucial for the holistic understanding of the subject matter. The book is appropriate for those seeking detailed information in this area.
